Self defense
Strong women aren’t fearless — they’re prepared.
Jon Poole – Women’s Self-Defense Coach
Jon’s passion for teaching self-defense was born out of personal experience. At an early age, Jon witnessed the devastating impact domestic violence and abuse has on women. A promise was and and a vision was born.. That early experience fueled his lifelong mission: to fight against one of the darkest evils in society—violence toward women.
With over 30 years of experience as both a professional fighter and coach, Jon has developed practical, effective techniques that empower women of all sizes and strengths. Being a smaller man himself has given him unique insight into creating strategies that work for those who may not have physical advantage.
Over the years, Jon has trained thousands of women around the world, from local communities to Kurdish women in Iraq. His proudest moments are often bittersweet—when former students share that his training gave them the tools to protect themselves in real-life situations. For Jon, this work isn’t just a skill he teaches; it’s a calling he has dedicated his life to. It is a matter of life and death.
Becky Wishart – Women’s Self-Defense Coach
For Becky, this isn’t just a class. Its an integral part of her lifelong mission. With a psychology degree, she brings practical strategies, a “bad-ass always fight back mentality” and the deepest empathy to prevent abuse and provide compassion and support to survivors. She has trained extensively as a fighter, determined to pass on skills that help women feel safe and strong.
A dedicated philanthropist, Becky has organized charity events for Iraq refugees, supported the Eddy House, and contributed to countless local causes. But her greatest impact is the quiet, everyday advocacy she offers to women in her community.
Known for her generosity and strength, Becky lives by the motto: “Be the woman who fixes another woman’s crown without telling the world it was crooked.”
